Volunteer at the Lilly Nature Center
The Celery Bog Nature Area is open from dawn to dusk, with no admission charge. It contains 4.3 miles of paved trails and 2.5 miles of natural paths through the woods, savanna, and prairie. Many sections of these trails take you right beside the marsh. Interpretive signs, audio informational units, and three observation decks are associated with these trails to make your hikes more enjoyable. Bicycling is permitted only on paved trails.
This 195-acre property is home to the Lilly Nature Center, which provides youth and adults an opportunity to experience nature and learn more about the environment around them. It also provides an excellent field trip destination for schools, youth groups, and university classes. The Nature Center is open 10:00 am – 5:00 pm Wed-Sat and 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm on Sun. The Center is closed on various Holidays and Purdue home football game days.
